Audiel Alanis

Executive Chef

Chef Audiel Alanis was born in Mexico, where his passion for food began at an early age. One of his first jobs was at a small neighborhood bakery, delivering fresh bread and watching the pastry cooks skillfully prepare traditional sweet breads. This early exposure to the culinary arts sparked his interest and planted a seed for what would become a lifelong career.

After moving to the United States, Chef Alanis stared working as a kitchen steward. It was during this time-helping the cooks set up the line and observing the fast-paced rhythm of a professional kitchen-that he discovered his true calling. Driven by determination and a desire to master the craft, he committed himself to become a chef.

Chef Alanis believes that being a great chef requires more than just technical skills; it demands dedication, resilience, and the ability to lead by example. “To be a good chef,” he says, “you must be willing to work long hours, weekends, and holidays, even when others are ready to give up.”

Today, Chef Audiel Alanis brings that same passion and work ethic to his role at the Sheraton Chicago O’Hare, where he leads the culinary team with excellence.
